Another Me: A Unique and Personalized Residential Design

A Spacious and Avant-Garde Living Environment

This design, named "Another Me," created by Simeng Yao, is a residential project that breaks away from traditional concepts and offers a truly unique living experience. Unlike conventional single-story houses that merely serve as a place to live, this design aims to showcase the owner's temperament and unmask their personality.

The key strength of this design lies in its ability to provide an additional display and enable the house to become another medium for self-expression. The spacious one-bedroom and one-living-room layout allows the owners to personalize the space and incorporate their favorite items, creating a living environment that reflects their individuality.

Prior to the design process, Simeng Yao conducted a questionnaire survey to understand the owners' residential needs and preferred styles. Through multiple discussions and collaborations with the clients, a targeted graphic design scheme was developed, and construction commenced to bring the vision to life.

The specifications of the design include a terrace measuring L7515m x W2130m and a living room measuring L12975m x W7190m. The emphasis is on creating spaciousness throughout the entire space, providing a sense of freedom and exploration.

Located in Chongqing, China, the "Another Me" project began in September 2019 and was completed in August 2020. It serves as a testament to the designer's dedication to exploring new possibilities in residential habits and redefining the concept of home.

The design of "Another Me" faced its fair share of challenges, particularly in convincing the owners to embrace the unconventional one-bedroom and one-living-room layout. However, through a thorough analysis of their needs, living habits, and personalities, the design was successfully realized.

This grand flat, spanning 200 square meters, was tailored to the preferences and living habits of a fashionable couple engaged in marketing and promotion. With a penchant for fashionable items, the large space was divided into a one-bedroom, one-living-room structure, with a dedicated room for the bedroom.

The exceptional design of "Another Me" has been recognized and awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the design's practicality, innovation, and ability to meet professional and industrial requirements.

Through "Another Me," Simeng Yao has not only created a stunning residential design but also opened up new possibilities for individuals to express their personalities and imagination through their homes.
